“In the first stage of Discovery, aptly called “Discover,” we identify our project goals and objectives. We ask important questions, like:

  • What’s the business value we’re trying to extract from this functionality or technology or this process?
  • What do the end customers need?
  • How are we addressing the challenges the end customers face?
  • How can we serve the end customers better?
  • What are the technical dependencies and the risks associated with them?
  • What are the best practices?
  • What will and won’t fit our technical strategy?

This provides an overall direction for the project. The first stage is about collecting information, finding holes and pain points, and talking to different stakeholders. We help the client develop a prioritization framework to ensure we align with them completely, with the same common goals.”

Discovery case study: Tarkett Group

Tarkett, a well-known flooring brand with a long-standing history, encountered a challenge familiar to many B2B companies adapting to the digital age and trying out new ways of doing business. As they aimed to be at the forefront of the shift towards digital in the flooring industry, Tarkett had a goal of creating their own online store where they could sell directly to customers, known as a direct-to-consumer (D2C) ecommerce presence.

Vaimo crafted a flexible and thorough exploration plan to tackle these issues and outline Tarkett’s vision, goals, and key strategies for their direct-to-consumer (D2C) digital platform. By working closely with various members of Tarkett’s team, Vaimo conducted a detailed examination of how products were delivered, the existing tech setup, and what the end customers required.
