GDPR is coming, get ready!
As you may be aware, the European Union is preparing to roll out a new data privacy regulation framework called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which goes into effect on May 25, 2018. For any company that does business in the EU, it provides new rules that govern how companies may collect and handle personal information. During the last 12 months, Vaimo has been working hard in the background to learn more about GDPR and plan and prepare for the necessary changes to ensure our systems and processes will be compliant. We have put together our brand new guide on GDPR fines, where you can read in detail about the breaches that could lead to fines and what you are responsible for.
Here’s a high-level overview of the breaches:
- 39 breaches of GDPR could lead to fines
- 20 of the breaches lead to higher level fines – €20M or 4 % of your company’s group turnover
- 19 of the breaches lead to lower level fines – €10M or 2% of your company’s group turnover
