The GS1 standard was created to increase operational efficiency, improve data accuracy, enhance customer satisfaction, and enable access to global markets. One unified way of describing products that will eliminate a lot of inefficiency is a beautiful theory.

However, the reality for many companies trying to comply with this standardized way of describing products, is that it is very time consuming. On top of this, requirements may vary for different markets and also change over time as GS1 is updating their data model regularly.

The overall feeling for many companies is, therefore, that it is complex to keep up with all requirements of GS1. Many companies only use Excel, which may not be enough to handle all dimensions in an easy and efficient way.

Vaimo’s new connector, which maps your PIM with the GS1 Standard to push validated information over certified GDSN data hubs, will eliminate all complexity by fully automating and handling all markets and classifications. The PIM system will help keep track of the required information and highlight what is missing. Once completed, this information will be pushed. If anything is changed, this information will also be pushed automatically.

The connector is build on Vaimo’s Connectmach microservices framework, and developed in cooperation with certified GDSN data pools. The team that will help our clients implement this solution has many years of experience working with GS1.
