On April 18th, 2017, The Estonian eCommerce Union shared the 6 finalists who have left an outstanding mark in theeCommerce landscape according to votes from a professional jury and open voting polls.
The Estonian Digital Excellence Awards 2016, organized by the Estonian eCommerce Union, saw 15 candidates apply this year, who all showed noteworthy achievements in the eCommerce world. Exactly 998 votes poured in to determine the finalists.
According to the eCommerce Union’s CEO, Signe Kõiv, Estonia is well known for being digitally advanced, and she is delighted to see that the private eCommerce sector does not fall far behind in terms of creativity and user-friendliness. “The competition included innovative solutions from smaller companies as well as from very well-known local brands. Votes from the public as well as our jury of professionals weighted equally yielded 6 finalists instead of 5 this time! We thank all those who applied as well as the active voters. We wish the finalists good luck, and may the best one win!”
The finalists include Vaimo clients Kaubamaja and Selver:
Kaubamaja didn’t want to miss out on the high-speed train of eCommerce and opened an online store in March 2016. Kaubamaja has had online campaigns since 2013, but it was time to construct a real digital storefront. Kaubamaja brought top of-the-line service, a portfolio of globally-renowned brands and the latest trends to their online shoppers. Additionally, the logistics processes were renewed which allows online orders to be compiled from two different warehouses, Tallinn department store warehouse, and from the actual sales floor. Kaubamaja’s results from the first fiscal year (10 months) are as follows:
- Over 20,000+ orders and 56,000 products sold
- Over 2.1 million visits
- An average online order 5 times greater than average orders during previous online sales campaigns
Kaubamaja’s eCommerce motto is: “an online store is never finished.” Kaubamaja is dedicated to constant development, innovative solutions, and uniting the online+offline channels by implementing a true omnichannel strategy.
One of the largest and most prestigious grocery store chains in Estonia, Selver, offers the largest selection of quality products through an online store that is comfortable, user-friendly and secure; Selver is exactly whereand when their customers need them. Customers can order within Tallinn city limits straight to their home or office, or they can go to specific store locations to pick up their orders. Selver’s online store offers private and business customers the opportunity to create accounts, and serves customers in Estonian and Russian languages. In addition to saving time, the Selver home delivery service is great for immobile customers (senior citizens, parents of young children, customers with special needs, etc). and also for those who make larger bulk orders several times a day or a week. Thanks to Selver, many customers have gotten their first online shopping experience in Estonia, and the positive experiences have raised awareness and trust of customers towards online shopping in general.
